Two-way editorial
What would you say were the CSR highlights of 2023 across the Group?
Jorge Boucas We embarked on a number of new initiatives during the year, including the launch of
our new roadmap and the setting of our f irst quantif ied targets. Bringing about a lasting and collective
transformation will require us to focus all our energies on the issues involved. We have also stepped up the
pace of delivering our decarbonisation strategy, which is being implemented with a very strong level of
commitment by our production departments and driving the introduction of many new initiatives.
This Non-Financial Performance Statement provides an excellent overview of the progress we are making.
J. B. The recent changes made to our CSR governance structure with the creation of its own dedicated
Management Committee give substance to our strategy and enable us to set a course to the future for all
our employees. Ensuring that our targets are achieved is the responsibility of our operations teams and
business managers, supported by the Sustainable Transformation Department, whereas the role of the
CSR Management Committee is to zoom out and take a wider view to anticipate future challenges more
effectively, check that we launch only the most appropriate transformation projects, and ensure effective
cross-functionality at every level.
How do you see the role of CSR across the Group, now and going forward?
Hélène Cappe
Social and environmental considerations have always played a key role in the relationships
we have with our partner customers and suppliers, and our employees. So introducing a formal CSR strategy
gives us the opportunity to go further still in highlighting the impact our activities have at every link in
the value chain. This paradigm shift and change of scale make CSR an even more important part of Group
strategic decision-making, and gives us an effective way of consolidating an industrial heritage that our
grandchildren will be proud of.
Transition is now more central than
ever to our growth model. As part
of restating our commitment to
stakeholders and our wider ecosystem,
we launched an ambitious CSR strategy
in 2023. Jorge Boucas, our Group CEO,
and Hélène Cappe, our Managing
Director and family shareholder, look
back on what was a pivotal year for the
Group, and look to the future and the
challenges that await us.
