Focus on QWL
A determination to live
and work well together
Inclusion, equal opportunities, wellbeing... all these key
issues are addressed through a shared Group-wide approach
designed to ensure that all our teams work in a setting that
is open, respectful of differences and compatible with the
personal fulf ilment of every individual.
Following the 2021 signature of the
f irst Group agreement on workplace
gender equality, 2022 was a year of
developing action plans for all our
French subsidiaries. Each was asked
to set its own priorities for the seven
action issues of pay, recruitment,
training, promotion/qualif ication,
working conditions and health and
safety, maternity and parenthood,
and ensure that practical action was
taken on each of them.
The level of commitment shown
at TIMAB Magnesium enabled the
company to increase its French
Gender Equality Index rating very
impressively from 65/100 in 2019
to 87/100 in 2023; an increase of
34%. More specif ically, the measures
put in place by this subsidiary have
helped to close the gender pay gap,
increase vigilance to counter any
attitude that could be construed
as discrimination in recruitment,
improve access to training for
all, and make salary adjustments
to encourage employees to take
maternity, paternity and childcare
leave through action on salaries.
Inclusion through sport
Employee health, motivation, performance... The benef its of physical activity
in the company context are well established. Our Group also sees it as a way
of asserting the right to be different by encouraging disabled employees
to get personally involved in sport. So we organise meetings, tournaments and
workshops throughout the year to introduce employees to paralympic football
and wheelchair basketball. We also sponsor the sporting exploits of one TIMAC
AGRO France employee by funding the bespoke wheelchair he uses for track
and road races, which are generally 10 km events. In this Olympic year, we have
also developed an Olympics 2024 programme of internal and external events
designed to take our relationships with partner clubs to a new level. For these
events, we have once again focused on paralympic sports, and invited Charlène
Coatantiec, a member of the French wheelchair basketball team, to introduce
herself and her sport, followed by an introductory session and tournament
to involve our employees and their partners in learning more about wheelchair
basketball
