Visintin, Seafarers Physician in Saint-Malo Our position as port maritime physicians allows us to act not only as advisers, but also as prescribers, when necessary.“ Adapting our working methods in collaboration with healthcare services On the 2nd of April in the midst of the lockdown on French territory, the Côtes de Bretagne returned to sea thanks to the Compagnie Armoricaine de Navigation (CAN) crew members who volunteered to embark in full compliance with the personal protective measures imposed onboard the vessel. To keep them COVID-secured despite the unavoidable necessity of working in close proximity 7 days a week, the CAN had to go further than the national rules introduced for the maritime industry by working closely with the port maritime physician in Saint-Malo; a partnership that proved essential during this period. The support provided by this medical professional enabled the company’s Operations Director and Safety Manager to adapt central government recommendations and create internal protocols tailored to their specific context, and have them officially approved. The port maritime physician also provided personal support for crew members by listening to their concerns, answering their questions and giving them the advices needed to reassure them on issues they were uncertain about. We would like to pay tribute to this collaborative effort, which was greatly appreciated and proved so effective in ensuring business continuity with real peace of mind. FACILITATING AGRICULTURAL CONTINUITY The “Agro Never Stops” philosophy is now a reality in every TIMAC AGRO country TIMAC AGRO has always supported farmers, regardless of market conditions or testing times, because whatever happens, agriculture never stops. That fact was truer than ever in 2020, so every TIMAC AGRO company responded impressively to the global pandemic in continuing to serve its customers by putting in place exceptional measures, delivering very high levels of responsiveness and sharing best practices. As a result, it was able to continue supporting distributors and farmers with deliveries ensuring strict compliance with all personal protective measures. This meant that field visits could continue (with the agreement of farmers, but in their absence) as the basis for preparing fertilisation plans and more, thanks to the digitalisation of TIMAC AGRO processes. Its sales, production and support teams showcased this philosophy through a series of ‘Agro Never Stops’ videos that also played their part in bringing people together and taking team spirit to a new level. Discover the first episode of the #Agroneverstops serie Supporting our customers in transforming their businesses WEISS, our company that specialises in the design and installation of biomass boilers, stepped up the level of support provided to its customers to ensure that even their most complex requirements continue to be properly addressed during the ongoing health crisis. One excellent example of this commitment in action was their collaboration with a sawmill which has been a customer for over 20 years. The company found itself in the position of having to refocus part of its business, with the result that it needed additional wood chip drying capacity, and therefore an increase in boiler capacity. Weiss was able to respond quickly with a tailormade project that fully addressed all constraints and met the expectations of the customer. Reasserting the value of domestic supplies As a leading supplier of raw materials for Animal Nutrition, Phosphea is central to the challenge of agricultural productivity and national-level collaboration to limit any risk of food shortages, and has become even more customer-focused as a result of the crisis. The company was able to put this commitment into action as early as March, at the height of the pandemic and the explosion in agricultural demand, when an LDC Group company asked Phosphea to make an emergency delivery of urea following the failure of one of its European suppliers. Urea is a nitrogenous corrector essential to milk production, and was stored in large quantities by Phosphea to avoid any disruption to the milk production chain. Its foresight meant that it could respond quickly and effectively to agricultural industry stakeholders which, like LDC, have faced supply issues with foreign suppliers. Demand for French products was particularly strong in March and April, reasserting the value of domestic supplies. The response delivered by Phosphea and the ready availability of the product needed by LDC convinced the customer of the need to build a longer-term relationship for a win-win French partnership.
