The NOUS Anti-Gaspi brand is one of its major partners. Thanks to its network of grocery shops, it offers customers products not available through traditional retailers at prices lower than those of conventional brands. This partnership was an obvious choice for Maison Colibri as it progresses towards its target of zero waste: in 2020, this partnership allowed the company to distribute more than 14,000 bags of madeleines through the brand’s 8 retail shops. NOUS Anti-Gaspi plans to expand the network to 50 shops throughout France over the next four years to serve even more customers who care about what they eat and want to do the right thing. ZOOM #2 A CULTURAL AND HISTORIC COLLABORATION TO MARK THE 75 TH ANNIVERSARY OF MAGNESITAS NAVARRAS The Camino de Santiago (or Way of St. James) runs through the head office and facilities of our Magnesitas Navarras subsidiary at Zubiri, in the Navarra region of Spain. So when marking its 75 th anniversary in 2020, it seemed the right thing to do to join forces with another important anniversary in the region: 800 years since the consecration of the Colegiata de Santa Maria in Roncesvalles, the Spanish starting point for the Camino de Santiago. The Jubilee Year began in July 2020 and ran through until 2021. In this time frame, Magnesitas Navarras is supporting an extensive programme of cultural events in the valleys where it operates, including history and photographic exhibitions, seminars, concerts, folk music and dance performances, meetings and conferences, as well as festive and community events. ZOOM #3 PHOSPHEA’S COMMITMENT TO SOLIDARITY ALONGSIDE THE RED CROSS Acting on the Phosphea commitment to back the Red Cross plan to address the economic crisis triggered by the coronavirus, the teams at the Phosphea production plant in Cartagena (Spain) donated food to the Murcia region food bank during November. Plastic films normally used to package Phosphea products have also been povided free of charge to help keep food fresh. Over the festive season, Phosphea employees usually receive a fine-dining hamper as a Christmas gift from the company, but in 2020 were invited to step up and convert their gift into a € 50 donation to the Red Cross. 3 QUESTIONS FOR… Prune Passama What is the purpose of the Roullier Endowment Fund? Brainchild of Daniel Roullier, the Endowment Fund was founded to promote the principles of sustainable agriculture by highlighting the role played by minerals in animal and plant nutrition, and the role of farmers in feeding the planet. This mission is now helping to rebuild the relationship between farmers and society through the opening of the Minerallium permanent exhibition, the support given to research projects in France and worldwide, and the hosting of sustainable agriculture events in 2021. What projects do you have planned for future years? We’d like to increase our support for international projects, particularly those in Africa and Eastern Europe. In fact, we’ve already entered into discussion with some potential partners. We also plan to set up projects in collaboration with other foundations and partners. In terms of the Minerallium , we hope to be able to welcome 1,000 visitors in 2021, with priority given to politicians, educational partners (from the age of 13), further education students and agricultural industry stakeholders. As soon as the health situation permits, we also plan to use the building to host a series of events for external audiences, including art exhibition previews, conferences and round table discussions on sustainable agriculture issues. What were your major events of 2020? Definitely the opening of the Minerallium . That event represented the culmination of nearly 3 years of work, so we were particularly proud to welcome 500 visitors during the year, despite having to close for five months as a result of health restrictions. We also signed agreements for two new projects that extend our sponsorship of Solidarité Paysans Bretagne, the non-profit organisation formed to support and protect struggling farmers and their families in Britanny (France). When selecting projects, we prioritise those led by a research chair, a non-profit organisation or research centre that promotes farming and involve farmers directly in their experimentation. Our aim is to encourage projects that enable farmers to make a living from their work, at the same time as supporting them with the use of sustainable practices, such as the considered management of resources, respect for biodiversity and producing a sufficient quantity and quality of food for consumers. THE ROULLIER ENDOWMENT FUND The Roullier Endowment Fund is now helping to rebuild the relationship between farmers and society through the opening of the Minerallium permanent exhibition, the support given to research projects in France and worldwide, and the hosting of sustainable agriculture events in 2021.“ Director of the Roullier Endowment Fund
