6 7 Extra-Financial Performance Report 2020 Groupe Roullier Extra-Financial Performance Report 2020 Groupe Roullier GROWING TOGETHER OUR PHILOSOPHY OF ACTION STRENGTHENED BY THE COVID-19 CRISIS The COVID-19 health crisis we have all been living through since the beginning of 2020 has once again highlighted the societal responsibility of our Group to ensure continuity of supply at every link in the food chain to which we contribute, and in all 131 of our operating countries. Our teams in Plant Nutrition, Animal Nutrition, Patisserie and Health Nutrition have adapted and reinvented their working methods without compromising the close relationships that unite them with their customers and partners. Our industrial services businesses in areas such as Plastics have also mobilised to play their part on the front line of the pandemic by ensuring essential supplies of bottles for alcohol-based hand sanitiser gel. Solidarity, Realismand Responsibility have been the keywords of this collective mobilisation and commitment. Further strengthening these principles, the digitalisation process we launched several years ago and our decentralised business model have enabled us to remain flexible and ensure business continuity calmly as we work together to cope with this new challenge. It has undoubtedly brought us closer together, strengthened our links with customers and partners, generated innovative solutions and enabled us to build many new trust-based relationships. This is the kind of trust that develops between those who have gone through hardships together and emerged stronger. These few pages are dedicated to these collaborations, which perfectly illustrate our collective ambition of Growing Together . We’ve played our role in fighting this pandemic by prioritising orders from companies directly involved in restricting the spread of the virus.“ Maxence Coutereau, Sales Director at Agriplas-Sotralentz Packaging Supporting them with smiles Maison Colibri wanted to do as much as it could to improve the daily lives of health service carers through this unprecedented period; a commitment that led to it going way beyond the usual boundaries of brand/consumer relations. In March 2020, it empowered its teams to set up a service that would donate madeleines to hospitals in the Nouvelle Aquitaine and Paris regions of France by delivering directly to hospital departments. The result was more than 15,315 madeleines distributed to healthcare staff. Responding to the health emergency As a manufacturer of industrial and retail industrial plastic packaging, our Agriplas-Sotralentz Packaging subsidiary has had an important role to play in responding to the health emergency: putting in place all the resources needed to deliver the best-possible service to detergent and alcohol-based hand sanitiser gel producers. To meet the needs of one of its longstanding customers - a Brittany-based expert in disinfection - the company not only reallocated a large proportion of its production capacity, but also used equipment that was not originally programmed to make this type of product. This response enabled 30% more 5L units to be manufactured for this customer during the first half of 2020. Having ramped up production from 5 tonnes per month to a staggering 13 tonnes per day, French alcohol-based hand sanitiser gel manufacturer Eccsel had a problem: its usual suppliers of small (500 ml and 1 L) containers for use in hospitals, pharmacies and companies were overwhelmed with demand. Once again, our Packaging Division was able to mobilise itself to produce these smaller formats in large quantities to meet national demand. Therefore, two machines at its Bellegarde plant were turned over entirely to producing packaging for alcohol-based hand sanitiser gel, enabling the company to increase production by more than 50% to deliver 1.7 million units for use in healthcare settings during the first half of the year. Demand may be lower now, but our relationship with these customers has become even stronger as a result of responding side-by-side to the health emergency.
