TIMAC AGRO’s acquisition of Rainbow Plant Food is part of the company’s international development strategy. In this new granulation plant, TIMAC AGRO will produce its innovative technologies, which will allow the company to optimize its presence in this region, and to improve its global positioning on this market.
Through this acquisition, TIMAC AGRO intends to boost its development in the United States through its industrial activities which are the main growth vector for the company. While this investment demonstrates its willingness to accelerate its growth in the United States in the coming years, it also highlights the strategic links it has maintained with Nutrien for several years.
For Karina Kuzmak, TIMAC AGRO’s World General Manager, “this acquisition illustrates our desire to accelerate our strategy of setting up production facilities as close as possible to our customers. Our model is based on our ability to offer innovative solutions manufactured locally, adapted to all soil and crop specificities, and meeting the challenges of yield, quality and respect for the environment in the agricultural sector. Thanks to the work of our local teams led by Alexandre Goullier, we are going to have a formidable tool at our disposal, which will enable us, with our technical representatives present in the field, to strengthen our proximity to farmers, which is our priority. This acquisition is only one part of TIMAC AGRO’s development project in the United States. The adventure will accelerate!”
Located in Americus, Georgia, the Rainbow Plant Food site employs 51 people. Specialized in granulation, it offers an annual production capacity of 190,000 tons. With this acquisition, TIMAC AGRO will benefit from Rainbow’s historical roots and its location in the heart of a high-potential market, the Cotton Belt and the Southeastern United States. With 146,000 farms in the vicinity, this production facility will also provide TIMAC AGRO with access to multiple crops and the ability to offer its innovative technology products to farmers seeking to ensure quality and yield.
In addition to the Americus site, TIMAC AGRO has industrial facilities in four other states: in Pennsylvania, Michigan, Illinois and New York. It operates in 27 states. After the integration of this acquisition, TIMAC AGRO International’s subsidiary in the United States will have 230 employees.
