On 18th January 2017, Timac Agro USA acquired A&E Ag, LLC, a specialist in soil fertilisation. The company, based in St. Louis, Michigan, is located at the heart of a rich and diverse agricultural region. It is the second most diversified state in crop production after California, whose annual fertiliser consumption is 1 million tonnes. This new acquisition reinforces our international development strategy and demonstrates the dynamism and ambition of our teams.

Founded in 2008, A&E Ag is a mixer and distributor of liquid and solid fertilisers, seeds, and road salt, as well as being a service provider, following the same model as our Reading site in Pennsylvania. With the benefit of reliable agronomy, state-of-the-art technology, and high value-added product performance, A&E Ag’s mission is to provide each farmer with a solution tailored to their operational needs. The company strives to establish trust-based relationships with producers so as to be able to offer efficient and innovative solutions. Timac Agro USA shares this same ambition. Alexandre Goullier, Managing Director of Timac Agro USA, adds that, “Thanks to this new relationship, our customers can count on the same quality of service, with an even wider range of products and options for customisation based on their needs.”

Integrating A&E Ag, LLC allows our subsidiary to strengthen its sales teams while relying on a new automated liquid mixing unit and another solid mixing unit. Finally, the central location of the site makes it possible to serve a large part of the state of Michigan thanks to a connection to the railway network which facilitates the supply of the company with raw materials.

Since January, A&E Ag, LLC has been operating under the name A&E Ag – Timac Agro USA. A & E Ag employees work alongside Brett Johnson, Director of the Great Lakes Commercial Unit at Timac Agro USA, which includes Michigan and Wisconsin. This geographical situation, some 1500km from the Reading head office, provides our subsidiary with new perspectives.
