More than 60 years of history

1959

The Group takes shape following the acquisition of its first crushing plant to process the local maërl (detached coralline algae), whose special qualities make it the most effective soil improver for acid soils

1963

The Group combines maërl with Tunisian GAFSA soft rock phosphate, whose properties make it the best phosphate in the world for direct application to the land. At the same time, it focuses on accelerating sales growth in France with the recruitment of field representatives whose job is to visit farmers on behalf of the distribution network.

1971

The TIMAC AGRO business gets off the ground with construction of its first fertiliser pelletising plant on the Quai Intérieur in Saint-Malo

1976

Phosphea goes live with the startup of a processing plant in the Saint-Malo Industrial Park

1979

TIMAC AGRO powers ahead with international expansion and acquires 12 production plants around the world

1984

The Group acquires its first research laboratory in Spain.

1988

The Group expands further with the creation of its Plastics business line

1989

The Group diversifies into food processing with Paticeo

1997

TIMAC AGRO continues its international expansion with the acquisition of a production plant in Rio Grande (Brazil)

2000

The Group diversifies into Magnesia with the acquisition of a mine and production plant in Spain

2003

Phosphea opens its first plant in Tunisia

2004

TIMAC AGRO’s acquisition of a production plant in Pischelsdorf (Austria) opens up markets in the countries of Central and Eastern Europe

2005

The Group opens its CERA Applied Research Centre. Dinard-based CERA showcases the determination of the Group to concentrate all its industrial process research expertise in a single facility to make it available to all its business lines and facilitate inter-team synergies. The only one of its kind in the world, the new centre includes an analytical laboratory and an integrated pilot plant that is a scale replica of a full-size production facility.

2011

The Group enters into a joint venture with the Louis Dreyfus Armateurs shipyard to build four 40,000-tonne raw materials bulk carriers.

2012

The Group enters into a joint venture to operate a Magnesia mine in Brazil.

2014

The Group produces 5 million tonnes of finished products across its Plant and Animal Nutrition business lines.

2015

The Roullier World Innovation Centre opens in Saint-Malo

2020

Paticeo expands internationally with its acquisition of Alysse Food in Belgium

2021

The Magnesia business line becomes the sole owner of Magnesium do Brasil
The UFS (World of Fitness and Sport) opens in Saint-Malo
TIMAC AGRO consolidates its presence in the USA with the acquisition of Rainbow Plant Food

2022

Phosphea acquires the SPO production plant in Brazil
